CVMS Donations Wanted

CVMS is looking for a good condition ping pong, foosball, and/or air hockey table for their Bobcat Backyard a place students go during lunch.  If you have one that doesn’t get used anymore and you are considering getting rid of please email Roberta at roberta.blank@sdushd.net.

Tardy Policy

A reminder about the CVMS tardy policy as written in the CVMS Handbook: “Students will arrive in class on-time, which means seated and prepared by the 2nd bell.” The consequence for repeated tardies is detention, parent contact and a possible referral to the School Attendance Review Board.  Upon our return to school from fall break, students with 3 unexcused tardies within a two week time frame will be issued detention.  In applying this policy, tardies will be counted for any period during the day. Tardiness distracts students and teachers, having a negative impact on the classroom learning environment.  Thank you for your support in delivering the message to your student about the importance of getting to class on time.

STEM Donations

The CVMS STEM classes are looking for building sets.  If you have any old Legos, Tinker Toys, Kinex, wooden blocks or other building type sets that you do not need anymore please consider donating it to CVMS STEM classes.

Acceptable Computer Use in the Classroom

Computer and network access is a privilege as outlined in the District’s Acceptable Use Policy agreed to by students and parents before school started.  We have had a handful of teachers report that students are playing games during class time and circumventing the protections of programs like GoGuardian.  Please remind your students to follow their teacher’s classroom rules, as well as district rules, regarding acceptable computer use.  Failure to follow these rules could lead to a loss of privileges as outlined in the CVMS Student Handbook.

Learning Commons Wish List

If you would like to support the CVMS Learning Commons, you can do so by purchasing a book from our Amazon Wishlist. All books will be delivered directly to the school for students to enjoy.

Keep Our Schools Safe

SDUHSD has worked with local law enforcement to identify the best tool to report incidents that may impact our school environment.  The San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center operates a Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) system for our county.  You can help to keep our schools safe by reporting directly to the SAR school threat site.  Although it does ask for identifiable information, you may submit your tip anonymously and the tip will still get routed to your local law enforcement.
